The classic Elder Scrolls is something the 80s kids remember. Known as Elder Scrolls: Daggerfall, the company just remade the game and gave it free to everyone by combining Bethesda’s original open-world RPG and the Unity engine. Currently, the game is free on GOGO and it took almost a decade of work to bring back the glory of the 1996’s title. So let’s talk about what has changed in the game and why no one is talking about the remake?
Elder Scrolls Daggerfall Remake: What’s Changed?
Firstly, the overall interior lighting has been changed along with new textures for the NPCs. You can even pet cats, dogs, and horses, and the best part about this remake is that, if you’ve played the original title before, this will be quite a nostalgic experience for you.
The Elder Scrolls remake had a twist of turns throughout the decade. The game was planned to be worked on in 2009, however, the whole project got abandoned in 2012, making fans all sad. But two years later, the game project started again where the developers would make this remake using 3D graphics and better effects.
All this happened because one modder changed the 26-year-old title.
The Daggerfall Unity and this ambitious project were launched years ago by Gavin Clayton who wanted to bring the classic RPG experience to a whole new generation of gamers.
This is why Clayton restored Unity 3D in order to make the visuals high-definition and also made the controls smoother for first-person gameplay.
The whole idea was to make the game accessible and playable for the new generation of gamers so they can imagine what gaming in the 90s was. But the question arises, how can you even play Daggerfall Unity?
How To Play Elder Scrolls Daggerfall Unity Remake?
You can play the remake as simply as it gets. Firstly, you can download it from STEAM or use the Good Old Games to play it. 3D games have come a long way since the original release of 1996’s Elder Scrolls and even though the graphics or gameplay isn’t the best when we talk about the game being released in 2022, it sure is just great to play.
As a lot of fans have no idea about the Elder Scrolls remake, we discussed the history, the changes, and everything you need to know about the new remake. So, are you going to try out Daggerfall Unity?
