STORYLINE:
The exciting trailer introduces the Halo universe to unfamiliar people with the classic video game franchise. The Master Chief is front and center for the long-awaited Halo TV series in the first teaser. During the 2021 Game Awards, Paramount and 343 Industries debuted the first look at the series on Thursday.
Dr. Halsey (Natascha McElhone) appears to be narrating the clip as she prepares Master Chief (Pablo Schreiber) for his mission as humanity’s best hope in the struggle against the Covenant. We also get a couple of glimpses of large human cities, a massive Covenant ship, and a garrison of UNSC troops ready for combat in between her motivating comments. While the clip doesn’t reveal much, it appears like the series will begin towards the beginning of humanity’s struggle with the Covenant rather than near the finish, as the first Halo game did.
The series sets up the mark of the 26th-century scenario when humanity is embroiling in an interplanetary battle against an extraterrestrial threat called the Covenant. Dr. Halsey (Natascha McElhone), a brilliant scientist, created the Spartans, super-soldiers genetically and technologically altered to augment their physical and mental capacities to win the battle. Master Chief Spartan John-117 (Pablo Schreiber) is the commander of a Spartan unity in the series.
HISTORY
The Halo series started in 2013 as part of Xbox’s multimedia content push. Unfortunately, the Xbox Entertainment Studios shut down in 2014, resulting in Showtime picking up the series. Showtime would take four years to approve Halo’s pricey 10-episode debut season in 2018. However, it wasn’t the end of Master Chief’s lengthy road to television; the program was halfway when the pandemic struck, causing still another delay. Halo sold to Paramount+ at the start of this year, and the series changed ownership once again.

RELEASE DATE
The live-action Halo TV show is looking much expensive in its latest trailer. In early 2022, the Halo series will launch exclusively on Paramount plus.
WHAT TO EXPECT FROM THE SHOW
The clip doesn’t reveal much about what to anticipate from the program, which, according to Paramount, “will take place in the universe” of the Halo games and pit mankind against the Covenant’s alien forces. However, it’s unclear if Halo would attempt to adapt the games straight or develop its own tale inside the franchise’s universe.
FINAL WORDS:
It’s unclear what Halo will be about beyond the franchise’s broad strokes, or if it’ll be a remake of previously published games, a new plot, or set in a different part of the Halo world.
The teaser is brief, showing only a few close-up views of Master Chief’s Mjolnir armor (which will be filled by American Gods’ Pablo Schreiber in the live-action program) before a voice that sounds very similar to Cortana (Jen Taylor reprising her role from the games) says,
“Hello, Master Chief.”
Gear up, Spartans!
